Registration for the 2016 Uniuyo screening will start on Monday, 20th June.
The Uniuyo Post UTME form cost N2000.
Deadline: The closing date for registration is, Saturday 2nd July 2016.
Screening will start on the 5th of July 2016.
Purchase of PIN and Registration will be done online.

2016 Uniuyo Cut Off Mark

The University of Uyo has confirmed that her cut off mark for the 2016 Jamb is 180.
So, if you scored 180 and above in the UTME and chose the university of Uyo as your 1st choice.
You are eligible to apply for the screening exercise.
Application for the screening starts on Monday.

Documents Required for Screening

1. Four (4) copies of the University of Uyo 2016 ON-LINE registration form duly completed with the passport-size photograph printed in colour.
2. Four (4) copies of 2016 JAMB(UTME) Result printout
3. Four (4) recent passport-size photographs on red background (same photograph as the one used for the on-line registration) with the name, UTME registration number and signature of the candidate on the reverse side of the photographs. These should be packaged in quarto- size envelope and labeled with name, department and JAMB registration number.

Candidates Qualified for RSUST Post UTME.

The screening exercise for admission of candidates will be administered only on candidates who chose RSUST and have received notification to that effect from JAMB.
Only candidates who scored 180 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are qualified for the screening exercise in all the Faculties of the University.
Candidates must possess the basic five (5) O’ level credit passes in accordance with the University’s Entry Requirements (Faculty/Departmental) before applying for the screening exercise. It is mandatory that Candidates should upload their O ‘Level results and a scanned copy of their passport photograph. However, candidates who are awaiting their O’level results may apply but should so indicate.

RSUST Post UTME Registration Procedure.

Candidates are expected to register for the screening exercise On-line by logging onto ust.edu.ng and making e-payment of Seven Thousand (N7, 000.00) Naira only, using Interswitch Verve enabled cards or using the Pay Direct Bank Branch option, comprising One Thousand (N1, 000.00) Naira Application fee, Four Thousand, five Hundred (N4, 500.00) Naira Test Fee, One Thousand, five Hundred (N1, 500.00) Naira for Computer Demonstration Exercise.

Candidates are to note that the mode of screening exercise is ELECTRONIC and SUBJECTIVE. It is important that candidates practice how to use the computer especially the use of mouse and keyboard before they turn up for the screening exercise. In addition, the Information Technology Centre (ITC) may be conducting a 1-week demonstration session for candidates prior to the date of the screening exercise.

The registration for the screening exercise will start from Monday 13th June, 2016 and end on Friday 1st July,
RSUST Post UTME Screening Schedule.

The screening exercise will take place from Monday 4th July, 2016 to Tuesday 12th July, 2016 at the Information Technology Centre (ITC) of the University. Candidates are requested to please note that the screening exercise is as scheduled in the screening exercise slip they printed out after their On-line registration. The scheduled date, time and venue shall be indicated in the test slip.

Consideration will not be given to candidates who fail to appear for the screening exercise on the scheduled date and time. All candidates for the screening exercise are required to come to the Venue with their test slip printed out during the On-line registration.

Candidates should note that GSM phones WILL NOT BE ALLOWED into the hall during the screening exercise.

Parents, Guardians and Well-wishers are advised to stay away from the venue of the screening exercise.

Candidates must report at the test venue one (1) hour before the scheduled time on their test slip.

Amodu 58, has managed a number of club sides in Nigeria, such as BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Shooting Stars; he also managed Orlando Pirates in South Africa. He first managed the Nigerian national team from April 2001 to February 2002. Amodu later stated that his dismissal was "unfair",[3] and also said that, a month later, he had yet to receive a formal letter confirming his dismissal. He was re-appointed manager in April 2008. In December 2009 the Nigeria Football Federation stated that Amodu was under pressure and in January 2010 there was speculation about his future. He was sacked in February 2010. Amodu was appointed technical director of Nigeria's national teams in May 2013. He was re-appointed Nigeria manager in October 2014, replacing Stephen Keshi. It was his fifth spell in charge of the country. Keshi returned to the role two weeks later but was fired in July 2015 and Amodu took over the Eagles again temporarily. President Muhammadu Buhari is currently studying the gazette signed by late President Umaru Yar’Adua on the Niger Delta crisis as one of the possible ways of tackling the renewed violence being orchestrated by the Niger Delta Avengers in the region, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt. The purpose of revisiting the gazette, it was further learnt, was to ensure that all the agreements contained in the document were implemented by the Federal Government. The development is coming at a time the destruction of oil facilities in the Niger Delta by the militants has crippled crude oil production and power supply. By Friday, power generation was said to have dropped to 2,832.5MW because of the attacks. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed to our correspondent on Saturday that the Federal Government was doing all within its ability to restore peace to the Niger Delta. Adesina listed some of the steps being taken to include consultations and the revisiting of the document signed by the late President. “Every effort is being made to restore calmness to the Niger Delta, including consultation, and taking a fresh look at the gazette signed by the Umaru Yar’Adua government, so that the agreements contained therein will be implemented,” the presidential spokesman said. The Senior Special Assistant to President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, had at a press conference on Friday confirmed that some of officials of the Federal Government were already holding discussions on how to end the violence. Enang had said some ministers along with top government officials from the Niger Delta had opened talks with the governors and aggrieved people from the region on how to resolve the conflict. He said the government was prepared to peacefully resolve the conflict. He listed Federal Government’s representatives currently engaging in dialogue with the stakeholders in Niger Delta to include the Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.); Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru; Co-ordinator, Amnesty Office, Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.) and other ministers from the region. He said, “The Minister of Niger Delta, the Minister of Interior, the Coordinator of the Amnesty Office have been taking actions consistent with their powers and with what I know, almost all the ministers and officers from the Niger Delta region have returned to their respective states, zones and blocks to talk to their leaders and their aggrieved persons on the need for us to maintain peace. “That is going on and they are the representatives of Mr. President. I will not tell you what Mr. President wants to do in person but these are officers and offices which are dealing with this matter.”

Buhari cancels trip to ogoniland

President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled one-day trip to Ogoniland, Rivers state Senegal for the flag off of Niger Delta clean up has been canceled. A Presidential source told SaharaReporters that President Buhari will be represented by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo The cancelation is not unconnected to security threats to the President from a newly formed militant group, Niger Delta Avengers who had threatened to kill the President should he step foot in the Niger Delta region. The president had blamed an ear infection for canceling the visit to Lagos where he was scheduled to commission some projects finished by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode two weeks ago. – The EFCC may not probe the source of the APC campaign funds for the 2015 general election – An APC BoT member said the PDP campaign funds were from public funds meant for purchase of arms – According to him, the EFCC probe was not because it was campaign funds but because it was illegally amassed – He said if the APC campaign fund was gotten legitimately, then there was no need to probe it A Board of Trustee member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Austine Edeze has given reasons why the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may not probe the source of the party’s campaign funds for the 2015 general election. Edeze, who is from the south eastern part of the country said unlike the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that looted funds earmarked for arms purchase for the military, there was no indication that their APC funded its campaign from public fund meant for specific purposes, Daily Sun reports. The probe is not because it was campaign fund; it’s be­cause you have taken the money from where you shouldn’t. So, those be­ing probed are being probed for stealing, not because they spent campaign fund. “And if you use money from a legitimate source, it would not be probed for the mere fact that it is cam­paign fund. If the APC got their own campaign funds from legitimate sources, then nothing makes it criminal, because it was used for campaign.” Edeze noted that under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, there has been no sacred cow. He also commended the president for his determination to win the war against corruption. The funding of the presidential campaign of the PDP is currently under investigation by the anti-graft agency. The former National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo is in custody and under investigation for allegedly sharing $2.1 billion originally meant for arms purchase to fund the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, to some party chieftains. Many have been wondering and asking why the APC campaign fund is not being investigated like that of the PDP. According to a report by Punch newspaper, in the first quarter of 2016, the All-Share Index also crashed to 28,902.25 basis points from 34,310.37 basis points as the equity category lost over N1.053tn in the first quarter of 2016. The market capitalisation of the NSE fell by N811bn in the first 10 weeks of trading this year. Investors had also made huge losses in the Nigerian equities market last year as the market capitalisation (equities only) of the NSE shed a total of N2.354tn between December 2014 and December 2015. An analyst quoted in the report said in the last one year, the efficiency of the country’s economy had been constrained by policies – monetary and fiscal. He noted that the country had not been able to chart the right path in the past one year, saying some actions by the Federal Government in recent times had shown a rethink especially in the partial deregulation of the petroleum downstream sub-sector and the flexible foreign exchange market. “Our concern is that this flexibility must mean flexibility in the whole sense of it. We’ve seen the capital market make progress recently owing to these. Any attempt by the government to interfere again could drag us back significantly,” Mr Tola Oni, an analyst at WSTC Financial Services Limited said. But the President, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, has said the capital market must facilitate capital raising for economic growth as well as mobilise savings for investment. Auchi Poly On Fire As Two Students Have Been "Reportedly" Killed By School Security (Photos)

There is serious uproar at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo state right now. Many students were refused to write their exams because they had not paid their tuition fees. Trucks Collide With Tomato Truck In Igando, Lagos This Morning

Three heavy duty trucks were involved in a ghastly auto accident this morning. The accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning along Oko-Fikki bus stop along LASU- Isheri Road, Igando. A heavy duty trailer, a LASTMA waste truck and a truck carrying tomatoes were involved in the collision. An eye witness confirmed to www.metronaija.com the waste bin truck was trying to enter into the trash site, where he would empty his bin, and both truck with sachet tomato and fuel tanker were on top speed. This led to the collossion with the LASTMA truck. It remains unclear if any lives were lost in the accident although men of the Lagos state emergency service are on the scene. Metronaija gathered that he driver of the truck with sachet tomato has since been taken to the hospital, while rescue efforts continue to bring out the motorboy and military escort of the truck with sachet tomato. The accident has led to massive traffic on LASU-Isheri Road.

Few days after the incident of a sidechic calling out her man's wife on Facebook for lack of sex skills, a more physical incident involving a sidechic has occurred in Abuja. 26-year-old Jamila Musa said she was bathes by acid by her man's wife on Sunday 29th May 2016. She is currently battling to save her sight at Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja. Her words: “A minute to 10pm on Sunday, I was sleeping in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I didn’t recognise the voice immediately but now I am sure of the voice. He said my boyfriend sent him to give me a message. “My boyfriend usually sends motorcycle operators to me so I assumed he was the one that sent this one and as I was trying to open the door, he poured the acid on my face. I rushed outside, I could not shout for about five minutes but when I started shouting, my neighbours gathered and washed my face with soap; they applied honey and pap to it before rushing me to the hospital. “I suspect his wife sent someone to attack me, I did not know at first that he was married but when I realised it, I tried to cut him off. I only knew that he was married when his wife started sending me text messages, insulting and threatening me, I even told him that I was going to report her to the police but he asked me to leave her alone. “I have reported to the Zuba police station and they said they will arrest my boyfriend, his wife and her brother.” “But this people here are not attending to me, I feel as if my condition is now worse, compared to when I came; I can no longer see well, the acid did not affect my eyeballs so I believe that when the swelling reduces, I will see again. But they are not attending to me, if they cannot treat me, they should refer me elsewhere, they should take care of me, I don’t want to lose my sight. “Look at my face, I want to recover from this, the acid did not affect my eyeball, I can see the reflection of light from the windows, I just want the swelling to go down but I feel abandoned, they treat others and abandon me, if they cannot do it, they should refer me to another hospital. This thing was not like this when I came here; I am scared; I don’t want to rot here.”

Allow EFCC Prosecute APC Members Accused Of Corruption – Okogie Tells Buhari

Archbishop Emeritus, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to ridding the country of corruption. Okogie praised Buhari in Lagos on Tuesday at a news conference organised as part of activities to mark his 80 years birthday celebration and 50 years priestly ordination anniversary. “I want to commend the president for his commitment to clean the polity. “There is also the need for him to be more systematic in the fight so that even after he leaves office the structure in place would make it difficult for corruption to thrive. “There have been complaints by members of the opposing party that the fight has been selective and only targeted at PDP. “The President must respond to this pro-actively by allowing the Economic and Crimes Commission (EFCC) to work independently, based on the facts and figures at their disposal. “It does not matter the party the accused belongs to. Anyone found wanting should be made to face the music. “That is the only way the President can prove that he belongs to all and to no one.’’ The cleric called on the Federal Government to engage the services of technocrats towards rebuilding the country. “No one knows it all; I feel that the present administration needs more technocrats to help in the task of rebuilding Nigeria. “The economy in particular needs the inputs of tested experts. “There is no shame in seeking for help in order to formulate policies that would attract the much needed inflow of foreign investors that would shore up our economic fortunes. “The President should borrow a leaf from the past administrations, who injected experienced hands that made all the difference and turned us into the investment port of choice in Africa.’’ Okogie said the task of building a vibrant nation deserved the involvement of every Nigerian. “The task of building a viable nation is one that calls for the involvement of every one of us. As it is said, evil thrives when good person stay aloof. “We must therefore continue to hold our nation accountable. The days of impunity are over. We must prove to the international community that there are good people amongst us; that are not corrupt as some believe. “We must call our leaders to order when they err and commend them when the need arise. One year is already gone, just after another year, the race for 2019 will commence in earnest. “What become of them then will be greatly decided by how well they are able to galvanize the nation out of its present predicament, we are watching.’’ He also appealed to the government to address the attacks by Fulani herdsmen, quell the agitation for Biafra, alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians and apply caution in solving the restiveness in the Niger Delta. Just two weeks after a Peace Mass Transit commercial bus was involved in an accident, killing all passengers except one, another one has occurred. Facebook user, Nwokoye Izuchukwu, who survived the accident yesterday May 31st, shared the photos on his wall. He wrote; "Join me give thanks to God Almighty for sparing my life from untimely death few minutes ago. I owe him all the praises. Be thou glorified O Lord.Pls my dear brothers and sisters, we all should be very careful with Peace mass transit drivers. What happened to us this evening was a big lesson to me. The driver attempted making a call. I shouted at him several times demanding that he dropped the phone. Within a minute or two a camry entered our front and because the driver was not really concentrating he lost control of the bus and ran into a ditch. He had enough space to break n control his bus but couldn't because he was almost absent minded. We give God all the glory"he wrote
